My Family, by Anissina
My name is Anissina and I'm six years old. I live in a fortress
near the capital of the planet. No one ever comes to visit. You can't see
the city from where we are. I'm not alone. I live with my parents, my grandmother
and my stupid brother. He's five years older than me. His name is Zorvakh.
We fight a lot and he always wins because he's bigger and stronger. Someday
I'll be stronger and always win. I love my grandmother. Her name is Jaskari.
She's so old and tough. I want to be just like her. She wears lots of jewels.
She told me she stole them all. Every night she tells me a story about when
she took one of them. I want to wear lots of jewels too! I stole a dark
red jewel from my mother's room. I can't wear it. It's just a jewel. I keep
it in a box with some money and other little jewels I took. I don't see
my parents much. I'm not exactly sure what they do. Grandmother says that
one day, Zorvakh and I will know what they do. I can't wait to grow up and
wear jewels and know what my parents do AND most of all, be better than
Zorvakh.
My name is Aurora, and I am 7. I live in a big house with my
Mommy and sister. Her name is Amy and she's 9. She's bossy. My Daddy doesn't
live with us. Mommy's friends say she's divorced, which I guess means he doesn't
live with us, but Mommy doesn't say why. I go to gymnastics, which I like
a lot. I can do a front and back somersault, and a back bend and a handstand,
and I can even walk a little on my hands, but not too far. Mommy says don't
do gymnastics in the house because I might crack my head open. Mommy doesn't
tell Amy not to do things, but Amy only reads books and stuff. I saw a girl
called Olga do gymnastics on TV. She was neat. I want to do gymnastics like
that when I grow up. People were mad where she is, but no one told me why.
I wish my Daddy was here. I bet he would tell me.
Hullo. My name is Damian. I am six. I live with my Mum in a
cave in a Vampire community. Mum helped me spell that. She’s really smart.
She's pretty too. The prettiest Mum in all the world. I have a Dad too.
I’ve never been to his house. Mum says his house is not a place for children.
He comes to visit sometimes. He’s big, purple, funny, and nice. I have horns
like he does. Mum doesn’t have horns because she’s not half saurian like
me. Mum helped me spell that word too. I love my Mum and Dad and they love
me. Mum says Mum and Dad love each other even though they don’t live together.
Some of Mum’s friends don’t like Dad. They say he’s bad. I don’t believe
them. My Dad is great. He taught me how to breath fire. It was neat. I have
a great family.
My name is Diamond. I am five cycles. I have a Mahda, a Papa,
and a brother. His name is Dominic. My brother and I live in a traveling
circus with our cousins. They are called The Flying Gendees. They are acrobats,
trapeze artists, and contortionists. Cousin Fina is teaching us tumbling.
My Mahda used to be a contortionist. I want to be one too. My Mahda lives
far away. So does my Papa. When they come see us they bring lots of presents.
One time Papa brought me a diamond bracelet and somebody stole it. I was
very sad. I miss my parents when they are away. I get very sad. But I am
happy when they come to visit. I love my Mahda, Papa, and my brother very,
very much.
Me llamo Dominic. That’s Spanish for “My name is Dominic.” My
Papa taught me that. His name is Jose Jesus Domingo Perez. I am five cycles.
I have a twin sister named Diamond. She’s my best friend. My Papa is human
and my Mahda is Hnn. My Mahda’s name is ChiChu Perez. I live at the circus
with my sister and my cousins. I am a good acrobat. I don’t like the high
wire because it’s scary. Our parents bring us presents. Papa bought me a
Power Patrol Adventure set. I really like it. I love all my family. We have
lots of fun together.
Hya! I'm Keisha and I'm six and a half years old. I live on
a big base with my Daddy and M'Tah. My Daddy's a human and my M'Tah is Mykari.
I have Mykari eyes like her, only they're green like my Daddy's. I also
have his skin, which M'Tah describes as a 'dark mahogany'. I also have a
full head of black hair, unlike a Mykari girl, but that's because I'm half-human.
I even have a green skull gem. M'Tah always calls me by my Mykari name, 'Va'Lenn.'
She doesn't use my human name unless I'm in trouble. She does the same thing
to my big brother. His name is Leo, but M'Tah calls him Lyore. He lives
in a far away galaxy called Limbo because he's a soldier and he's way older
than me. I don't get to see him very often, well not in person. M'Tah always
told the story of how I was born in that galaxy. She works for our ruler,
the Avatar and was on a big mission for 'Her Imperial Holiness' when I was
born. I can't wait for my seventh birthday! That's when I'll receive my first
Jewel of the Goddess and my Element will be revealed. I can do little spells
now, but once I turn seven, watch out! M'Tah says as long as I keep practicing,
I'll be very strong when I get older. I may be even more powerful than Leo!
He promises to be there when my Element's revealed. I hope he brings some
plants from Limbo. I love flowers. They're so pretty. Daddy's a soldier
like Leo, but he stays at the big place where we live. I'll be so glad when
my family's all together for my birthday!
My name is Zannatasia Izzabella, but people call me Zan. I live on
the chairokey restervazion with my Papa Charlie. He's a friend of mammas.
Mamma and dad, don't live together anymore. But that's ok with me. I have
fun playing in the forest and near by stream. On saterdays we go fishing
or hunting or horse back riding. Papa Charlie is teaching me how to shoot
a gun and how to ride a horse. He says that when I am older he will teach
me how to blow things up! I like watching him blow things up. He's good at
it. It's his job. I also like staying with his friends, the Runinghorses.
Mr. Runninghorse is a shaman for the chairokey restervation. (That's like
a preacher) Mrs. Runninghorse is a priestess, I guess that is the girls version
of a preacher. She hasn't told me yet. They are having a baby soon. She says
that if I am a good girl I can help her take care of the baby. When Papa
Charlie has to be gone for several days, I get to stay with Granny Mattie.
She's a realy purty lady. And I get to have home made cookies when I am there.
She's a doctor and she's teaching me how to use every day things to fix people
up. These people are my family and I am proud of them.
My name is Zorvakh and I'm seven years old. I live in a fortress
far away from anything. Mom and Dad are never around and Granma Jaskari is
too old to be much fun. Things were very boring until Mom and Dad gave me
a little sister to play with. Her name is Anissina and she's two. I love
to take her toys when her back is turned and hid them from her. I love it
even more when she turns around and starts crying when she can't find what
ever I took. I hate it when Jaskari comes and ruins my fun by finding Anissina's
toys and giving them back. I also like to take her snacks and eat them in
front of her. Jaskari ends up giving Anissina another one and tells me to
leave my sister alone. I think Anissina has realized what I've been doing
with her toys too because she comes over and bites me in the leg. That won't
stop me from bugging her!
