THE SHADOW LEGACY:
YAKUZA RISING

by
Shadowhawk

Things seem quiet in Limbo after the Dark*Star incident. The SilverHawks are back in Hawk Haven trying to advance on the Mob, while Mon*Star returns to Brim*Star showing no remorse for his actions towards Shadowhawk. Elsewhere on Automata, Meilin was mourning over the loss of her love.

“Ailen, Yingyao,” she cried silently. “Why did you do that? Don’t you know I love you?”

Meanwhile, soaring all over Limbo was the new forms of Shadowhawk and Erebus who is on the prowl for Mon*Star in hopes of revenge. Their power rose drastically after falling into the Dark*Star and its energy was transferred into Shadowhawk’s body.

“If I know Mon*Star,” growled the powered-up Shadowhawk, “he’ll be on Brim*Star. Once he leaves, we’ll give him a nasty surprise!”

“Normally, that would work,” squawked Erebus, “but remember it’s still the Mob against us. We’ll be outnumbered. Think before you act. You’re BEYOND Mon*Star now.”

Shadowhawk knows his power is now beyond Mon*Star’s but without control, he’d be just like him. “You’re right, Erebus,” he smiled wickedly. “And I’m going to Automata and sign up our first recruit!”

“Automata?” questioned Erebus. “You don’t mean…”

“I do,” nodded Shadowhawk. “Now let’s fly.”

Erebus then became a giant glider for Shadowhawk to ride on and the two zoomed towards Automata at lightning speed, scouting for recruits. But, during their hurried flight, they nearly ran down Seymour’s cab. Seymour and Zeek the Beak were doing their usual routine when they saw the new and improved Shadowhawk fly by.

“YIKES! Did you see that, Seymour?” exclaimed Zeek. “That looked like Shadowhawk, but he’s HUGE!”

“I see,” agreed Seymour, “but whatever that thing is ain’t human! You know what I mean?”

Seymour decided not to take chances and radio the SilverHawks with what they found.

At Hawk Haven, Commander Stargazer was filing the cases on Shadowhawk closed when the call came in.

“This is Hawk Haven,” he answered. “Commander Stargazer here. What’s the problem?”

Seymour and Zeek were a bit frantic to explain, but they saw a giant hawk-man riding a giant metal raven-falcon hybrid heading towards Automata. The big kicker is that it looked like Shadowhawk.

“Shadowhawk?” exclaimed the Commander. “But Shadowhawk died in the Dark*Star!”

“Well whatever that thing was,” added Seymour, “it’s heading for Automata to do something. You know what I mean?”

Stargazer isn’t sure of what to make of this report, but with the citizens of Limbo in jeopardy, nothing is left to chance.

“Attention, SilverHawks!” radioed the Commander. “Something BIG is heading towards Automata that might pose a threat to Limbo! Intercept and apprehend whenever possible!”

Only the Blue Team went out to search for this new threat to Limbo as the Gold Team were on hand to see Cherri “Berri” Hasua give a charity performance in Bedlama. The special charity was in honor of Kumo Kagetaka, Shadowhawk’s real name.

“Why would ANYONE, especially Cherri dedicate this concert to of all people, Shadowhawk?” complained Skyedanseur. “That sleaze-ball deserved no respect for what he’s done!”

“Well, Krysten,” SteelHeart explained. “From what the Kid told me, Shadowhawk only wanted to have some fun. He spent a week’s vacation with Cherri after the Valentine’s Day Ball.”

Backstage, Cherri was talking with the Copper Kid about all the events that have happened in Limbo and the latest caper ever.

“Are you really doing this for Shadowhawk, Cherri?” he asked.

“I am, Jaxx,” she nodded. “He and I had a few laughs together. He may have been a member of Mon*Star’s Mob, but he was a one of my biggest fans.”

“Things are sure different now with Shadowhawk gone,” noted the Kid. “He was one of a kind.”

Elsewhere on Automata, Shadowhawk and Erebus were on the surface looking for the now ruined headquarters of Apollo Red where Meilin Mao resides in.

“Even if we find her,” explained Erebus, “she’ll say Shadowhawk died in the Dark*Star.”

“Then we’ll give ourselves new names,” Shadowhawk replied. “From this day forward, I’ll be known as Daimyo. And you, Erebus, will be dubbed as Apollyon.”

“Apollyon? I like that,” agreed Erebus. “It’ll strike fear in the hearts of all Limbo citizens!”

“And don’t forget the Mob and that traitor Mon*Star!” declared Shadowhawk who now goes by Daimyo. “It’s high time we get even with him and the Mob and those SilverHawks DOUBLE!”

Just then, Apollyon sees someone coming out of the ruins and alerted Daimyo. The rogue SilverHawk saw Meilin Mao coming out in a white dress instead of her usual red one and a veil covering her face.

“It’s Meilin!” said Apollyon. “Is she marrying someone? I thought she was in love with you!”

“She still is, Apollyon,” replied Daimyo. “White is the color of mourning and death in China back on Earth.”

“Well, what would her reaction be if she found out you’re still alive?” asked Apollyon.

“We’ll soon see,” answered Daimyo. “Perhaps I can contain the Dark*Star’s energy and return to my once human form.”

Upon saying, Daimyo suppressed the Dark*Star’s energy and once again became Shadowhawk and at the same time, Apollyon reverted back to Erebus again. After returning to their normal states, they headed over to Meilin’s general area.

“Nihao!” called Shadowhawk to Meilin.

The young Chinese yakuza princess heard the voice and turned around. There she was staggered for words when she saw Shadowhawk standing in back of her and Erebus perched on his shoulder.

“AI-YAH!!” exclaimed Meilin. “My darling ailen! Yingyao! You come back to me!”

In a moment, the two lost lovers reunited and spent the night in the ruins of Apollo Red’s headquarters. When the Artificial Sun was shining on Automata, Shadowhawk and Meilin emerged from the covers of their bed once belonging to the Triad that led Apollo Red when they were active.

“Meilin,” smiled Shadowhawk. “This was the greatest reunion we ever had. Xie xie for everything.”

“You’re welcome, ailen,” replied Meilin.

Shadowhawk then finally got the courage to give Meilin a present he was saving: a 24-carat three-diamond ring, one diamond for each member of the Triad. Then he bowed down to one knee. “Meilin Mao,” asked Shadowhawk. “Will you marry me?”

Meilin was overcome with joy and delight over Shadowhawk finally proposing to her and she hugged the dangerous rogue very tightly. “Yes! YES! I WILL!” she giggled happily.

Erebus was circling over their heads and saw that Meilin’s stomach was a bit bigger than before. He told Shadowhawk about this.

“Meilin,” pointed out Shadowhawk. “You’ve gone a bit bigger before I left the ball.”

Meilin blushed and whispered into Shadowhawk’s ear about this sudden change in her body. After hearing the news, Shadowhawk was flabbergasted.

“YOU’RE PREGNANT?!” yelled Shadowhawk out loud.

Meilin blushed and nodded, “I am, ailen. You’re soon to be a father, my love.”

Scouting around Automata was the Blue Team hoping to attack the hawk- man that is Shadowhawk’s powered-up form Daimyo. No one knows that the monster is Shadowhawk back from the dead.

“We’ve been on watch for so long,” complained Moonstriker. “And we ain’t seen hide nor feather of that hawk-man.”

“Be patient, Moonstriker,” ordered Condor. “That monstrosity will show. I just know he will.”

“I keep thinking there’s something familiar about that hawk-man,” said Hotwing. “Like we’ve seen him before.”

“Well, we’ll still keep an eye out for anything suspicious,” noted Flashback. “And we’ll be ready to strike.”

Back on Automata, Shadowhawk, Meilin and Erebus were planning to make their home and headquarters somewhere out of Limbo. But before either the Hellcat or Nightmare can take off, Erebus saw the Blue Team circling ahead.

“The SilverHawks, HERE?” cried Meilin. “Not here! Not now!”

“Don’t worry, qizi,” said Shadowhawk comforting her. “They’re after me or someone that looked like me.”

“And just HOW are we to do that, Loverboy?” squawked Erebus.

“If Mon*Star can do it, so can I,” Shadowhawk spoken. He told Meilin to get in the Hellcat as Shadowhawk began to create dark energy around him after absorbing the Dark*Star into his body.

The Blue Team was awaiting the hawk-man ready for anything to come out of Automata when everything around Automata went pitch black.

“What in tarnation is going on here?” hollered Moonstriker.

“Some kind of living darkness,” replied Hotwing. “And it’s cloaking Automata for some reason.”

Back on Automata, Shadowhawk and Erebus were the only things shining in the darkness as he begins his transformation.

“Dark*Star of Limbo…” Shadowhawk began to chant. “…Bring on the darkness, bring on the night! Bring me the power soaring supreme…DAIMYO!”

In an instant, Shadowhawk began to grow into the giant hawk-man that scared Seymour and Zeek earlier. Erebus then began his transformation into Apollyon. When the darkness cleared, the Blue Team saw Daimyo and Apollyon zoom towards them at high speed and following them was Meilin Mao in the Hellcat.

“That was the Hellcat,” noted Condor. “That’s Meilin Mao’s spacecraft.”

“Then that monster IS Shadowhawk!” acknowledged Flashback. “Notify ALL the SilverHawks immediately!”

Back on Bedlama, the Gold Team was just finished the routes when Quicksilver got a call from Hotwing with some startling news.

“Shadowhawk’s back from the dead?” exclaimed Quicksilver. “And he’s become a dark version of Mon*Star?”

The Gold Team was buzzing about Shadowhawk’s sudden survival, but Cherri eavesdropped in on the conversation and heard about Shadowhawk’s latest development.

“Kumo-chan,” silently thought the Mimian idol singer. “What’s happened to you? What’s wrong with you? Tell me.”

The SilverHawks had a taste of trouble when Shadowhawk first came to Limbo, and now that he’s more powerful than even Mon*Star, he’ll be a dangerous threat to Limbo and the Universe itself. And this is just the start of Shadowhawk’s revenge against the Mob and the destruction of the SilverHawks.

Shadowhawk knows he's more powerful than Mon*Star, but all he has are Meilin and Erebus. Mon*Star still has his Mob and the powers of the Moon*Star of Limbo. In order to get his revenge, Shadowhawk needs some recruits. It's time we scan for potential members into our organization," stated Shadowhawk, "and a new base of operations for our headquarters."

"What's wrong with Automata, ailen?" asked Mao.

"Mon*Star would EASILY find us here," explained Shadowhawk. "So can the SilverHawks. We need an out-of-the ordinary spot."

"How about worrying where to live until AFTER we get our recruits?" squawked Erebus.

"It's a long haul." Shadowhawk knows there are other criminals that Mon*Star overlooked in the Penal Planet, some criminals that have not been captured, and any other miscellaneous personalities. Shadowhawk, Meilin and Erebus went undercover to find the best soldiers for their organization.

In Hawk Haven, the SilverHawks were making their rounds searching for any sign of Mon*Star and his Mob or more particularly Shadowhawk. Ever since he returned from the Dark*Star, he's been seeking to get revenge on the tyrant. "So Shadowhawk IS back," observed Stargazer. "And from the looks of things, he'll be planning revenge on the Mob."

"So what?" said Moonstriker. "Let those two battle each other out and do all of us a favor."

This made Aurora angry and got into Moonstriker's face. "And what about all the innocent people that just happens to be in the way?!" she shouted. "Can we ignore them too?! You're out of line, Moonstriker!"

This put Moonstriker in shambles and Bluegrass had to speak up. "Excuse me, ma'am," he interrupted. "But ain't y'all too hard on him?"

"With Mon*Star and Shadowhawk out there," answered Quicksilver. "It's as SERIOUS as it can get."

"And putting millions of lives at stake is very serious," added Aurora. "And who knows WHAT Shadowhawk has in store!"

"OK, OK! Tarnation!" howled Moonstriker. "I was just joshing! Shadowhawk must be stopped, whatever the darned fool looks like now!" Afterwards, things just died down as the other Hawks were planning to counterattack to what might be the biggest turf war in Limbo history.

Meanwhile, Shadowhawk, Meilin and Erebus were sailing to Earth landing in Tokyo, Japan, right near him home ward. "Why did ailen land on Earth?" asked Meilin. "And what purpose do you have here?"

"I've figured I'd get some extra help here," responded Shadowhawk. "In keeping with my own Earth tradition, I'm scouting for talent." He, Mao and Erebus went to a part of Tokyo where he saw a man with long blond hair and a mysterious aura around him. He was in black clothes and carried what looked like a samurai sword. "That's our man," noted Shadowhawk as he and his associates came forward. Evil men with three-piece suits and guns surrounded the young man and were ready to open fire, but the shady man in the black cloak unsheathed the sword and sliced off the guns' barrels in an instant. Within minutes, the goons ran off scared. This prompted Shadowhawk to step forward. "I've seen you in action, young one," said Shadowhawk. "What is your name, warrior?"

The young man bowed down in respect to him, not knowing if he's friend or foe, and answered Shadowhawk. "My name is Eiji Mitsurugi," he answered. "I am a ronin, a masterless samurai, and I'm under fire from a local yakuza. Can you help me out of this?"

Shadowhawk thought it over and replied, "Should I help destroy your oppressors, will you promise to work for me, no matter what I've become?"

"I promise," bowed Mitsurugi. "No matter what happens, I will serve you."

Shadowhawk learned everything about Mitsurugi's past and went to the yakuza headquarters where it was chock full of the same men in the suits and some high-priced officials. As a meeting came to a close, Shadowhawk went into full armor like the SilverHawks, walked inside the building and shouted, "Looking for some FUN, boys?!" Before the mobsters can react, Shadowhawk gave the entire yakuza a bad case of Dark Symmetry: his powerful wave of darkness. The entire headquarters and everyone in it was reduced to rubble. Mitsurugi was shocked to see that kind of power. He almost refused to obey someone that has evil powers, but he can't hold back on his promise.

"You have dark powers roaming inside you," pointed out Mitsurugi judgmentally. "I never serve an evil being, but a samurai keeps his word. I will join you."

With one recruit in his wings, Shadowhawk headed west to Osaka to pick up another recruit, a deka (female juvenile delinquent) named Mai. She was sent to prison for repeated truancy, vandalism and random acts of delinquency. "We have to pick up a miserable young girl on the verge of destruction?" questioned Mitsurugi. "Whatever reason do we need to set her free?"

"I can use that hostile energy on my most greatest enemies, Mitsurugi," responded Shadowhawk.

"Ailen always has plans for many people," added Mao. "That's how ailen met me."

In Osaka's jail, the teaching faculty was having their way with the delinquent Mai, handcuffing her to a post and whipping her back with kendo sticks. Seeing a delinquent in pain is what they love to see, but when Shadowhawk came in, their pleasure turned to fear.

"It's bullies like you that makes the terrorist seem tame!" scowled Shadowhawk. "It's time I'd teach YOU a lesson!" Shadowhawk released the Dark Symmetry on the entire jail. Every last one of Mai's tormenters and faculty was lying dead on the ground. Mai herself was cowering for her life for the very first time.

"No! NO! Don't come near me!" she wailed. "Leave me alone! Get back!" Shadowhawk gave her a big chop to the back of her neck as Mitsurugi sliced the handcuffs off her. She became hunched over the samurai's back as the Shadowhawk headed towards the shuttle, unaware that someone once part of the yakuza Shadowhawk destroyed has stowed away.

Reaching Limbo, Shadowhawk gave Mitsurugi samurai armor and also covered his face with a tengu mask for traditional reasons. When Mai became conscious, she found earphones and gauntlets on her and looking down from her is Meilin Mao herself. "Enjoy your sleep, nu liu mang?" asked Mao. "Hope you like the gift I brought you."

"Gift?" said a startled Mai. "You got ME a gift? I normally steal what I get! Why do this for me?"

"My ailen say you have potential in our gang," blushed Mao. "He'll also make sure you cooperate with us."

"What if I refuse?" threatened Mai. "I may not like it in this getup."

Shadowhawk turned back and said, "If you refuse, you'll be put back to Earth and I'll see to it YOU'LL be blamed for the destruction of the jail and the faculty. And terrorists always get the death penalty."

"That's not fair!" she whined. "I'm young! I'm not a terrorist!"

"Trust me, miss Mai," noted Mitsurugi. "My shogun doesn't fool around."

"OK," reluctantly answered Mai. "I'll accept, but what are these things on me for?"

"Soundwave gauntlets," explained Mao. "They release a powerful wave of sound wherever you point them. Makes for a handy weapon, ne?"

"I'll say!" the delinquent said excitedly. "You know, I think I'll like being in this gang of yours, Mr. Shadowhawk!"

"Then welcome aboard, Mai Ongaku," declared Shadowhawk. "Mai Ongaku, I like that!" she thought.

While Shadowhawk and his newfound friends were scouring for more recruits to join Shadowhawk's gang, the SilverHawks were about to make their rounds throughout all of Limbo when Seymour's cab came in and dropped off Cherri "Berri" Hasua near the docking bay.

"Thank you, Seymour," she said as she tipped him.

"No problem, ma'am," he replied. "Happy to be of service, you know what I mean?"

Cherri's reason for coming to Hawk Haven was that she is worried about Shadowhawk and if they have heard from him lately, even if he is on the other side of the law. "Kumo-chan," said Cherri quietly. "I pray you're alright. I still remember the time you visited me was after the ball. How I missed you so much." The Copper Kid was almost ready to go when he saw Cherri in the docking bay. He ran to her and asked her in their language what she was doing here in Hawk Haven. "I was worried about Kumo-chan," she replied to the Kid. "I haven't heard from him in months."

"I know how you feel, Cherri," said the Kid. "Shadowhawk is somewhat OK, but we fear something has happened to him."

This felt a chill in her heart knowing the other person to give Cherri joy besides her entawan Umi Hasua is in serious trouble. "Poor Kumo- chan," cried Cherri.

"Don't worry, we'll do all we can for him," replied the Kid. "Right now, you'd better head back. Your entawan may be worried sick about you."

"Maybe you're right," sighed Cherri and went back into Seymour's cab with one final request. "If you do find Shadowhawk, tell him I said 'Hello'. OK?"

The Kid nodded as he looked at Cherri's face. He saw a bit of worry for the shady one that nobody else, not even the Mob and the SilverHawks noticed. "We're doing the best we can, Cherri," thought the Kid. "It'll be difficult, but we'll help him."

Meanwhile, Shadowhawk, Erebus, Meilin, Mitsurugi and Mai Ongaku reached the Penal Planet where the most dangerous criminals are imprisoned. But, Shadowhawk saw a bunch of criminals the Penal Planet deemed so pathetic to be imprisoned they've been kept as janitors. "I've heard of them, ailen," said Meilin Mao. "They're rookie criminals with not much luck on their side."

"So have I, qizi," agreed Shadowhawk. "But after we spring them, they'll be fighting machines. Erebus, you come with me. Meilin, stay here and open the hatch for our guests."

"Right, ailen," smiled the Triad princess as she opened the doors letting out the Nightmare near the Penal Planet. Shadowhawk landed near the pack of rookie crooks. There were no guards watching because they didn't care. "This is perfect," thought Shadowhawk. "It's time to go ultimate!"

"I'm with you, Kumo-chan!" added Erebus and spreads his wings out. "Say the phrase that pays, boss!" Shadowhawk began his transformation by use of the Dark*Star inside him. Every rookie crook on the field and those associates of Shadowhawk inside were seeing him transform for the first time. "Dark*Star or Limbo." he chanted as the sky grew black, even with the Artificial Sun turned up at full blast. "Bring on the night, the darkness! Let Shadowhawk soar supreme, as DAIMYO!" When the sky became clear, Shadowhawk became the beastly Shadowhawk Daimyo again and Erebus became the giant scavenger Apollyon.

The rookies were a variety of mutants and miscreants forgotten by the Mob and the SilverHawks: a cobra-man wizard named Damon Aufruf, codenamed Summoner; a gray-skinned sorcerer in a blue robe named Klaus von Ericsson, codenamed the Spellbinder; and a gray ghoul with shape-shifting powers and three red eyes known only as the Dark Specter. "You three are hired," declared Daimyo. "Hop aboard my shuttle. My significant other, Meilin will explain the details." Without a word, the Summoner, the Spellbinder and Dark Specter hopped aboard Shadowhawk's shuttle and took off. One guard who just came back saw Daimyo take off from the Penal Planet and there was no sign of those three criminals.

"Sgt. Lockup! This is the guard post calling!" he radioed. "Shadowhawk came in and sprung Summoner, Spellbinder and Dark Specter!"

"Shadowhawk?" asked the sergeant. "He's the most dangerous of all the criminals in Limbo! What does he want with those three losers?"

"I'm not sure why," answered the guard. "He just swooped them up and they left in that shuttle."

"Let those three losers go," ordered Sgt. Lockup, "but notify the SilverHawks about Shadowhawk anyway. I feel he's got SOME sort of plan under his sinister wing."

Leaving the Penal Planet, Shadowhawk counted the house inside the shuttle with an odd assortment of dangerous criminals from all galaxies, almost similar to Mon*Star's Mob when he first went into Limbo. "So far, so good," smiled Shadowhawk. "Only a few more recruits and we'll be on our way to our new base."

The entourage of the new Mob were confused as Summoner raised his scaly arm and asked Shadowhawk, "Where issssss thisssss new basssssse, whoever you are?"

"It's on the dark side of Limbo," he answered. "A place called Scotos, the planet of Darkness and Shadows."

"SSSSSSSSSSSCOTOSSSSSSSSSSSS?" hissed Summoner in fear. "That placccccccce hasssssssssss no sssssssssssssunlight! Not even the Artificial SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSun can reach it!"

"Relax, Summoner," calmly spoken Mitsurugi polishing his sword. "My shogun knows what he's doing, no matter what he does." While the gang were getting to know each other, out snuck the stowaway from back on Earth that was near where Shadowhawk picked up Mitsurugi. He was trying to sneak to the cockpit of the shuttle where Shadowhawk and Meilin Mao were piloting, but he was stopped short by Mitsurugi's blade inches away from his head. "I sensed you were on board," he pointed out to the man in the three- piece suit. "I didn't want to trouble my shogun in his present state of mind."

"Your shogun?" he nervously asked. "Is he that monster hawk?" Just then, Shadowhawk went by to check on the house as Meilin was piloting the shuttle. He then noticed Mitsurugi holding out his blade at the stowaway's head.

"I see we have company." slyly smiled Shadowhawk.

Meanwhile on Brim*Star, Mon*Star overheard the commotion all around Limbo and on Earth caused by Shadowhawk and he wasn't too thrilled in one bit. "It's bad enough Shadowhawk survived the Dark*Star," he grumbled, "but now he's already planning to muscle me out of my territory! Well, I'll send someone to intercept that traitorous scavenger and take control of everything!" With that he called forth the vampiress Echo and her retainer Pricilla forward. Echo was the wife of former Mob Elite member Dragor who died in the Penal Planet and Pricilla was a Triceron who became her best friend. They both resent Mon*Star for leaving Dragor to perish.

"What do you want, Mon*Star?" Echo snarled. "This had better be good."

"It is," Mon*Star boomed out. "We have a traitor in our midst. He survived an accident with the Dark*Star of Limbo, but he's grown far too powerful. He must be stopped immediately!"

"Dark*Star of Limbo?" Pricilla exclaimed. "That thing's totally unstable! How can anybody survive that?"

Mon*Star grew very impatient and shouted, "HE JUST DID! NOW GO OUT THERE AND DESTROY HIM!"

"Yes, Mon*Star," said Echo reluctantly as she and Pricilla went in the Wicked Zoomer out on orders to find Shadowhawk's whereabouts.

Back at Hawk Haven, The SilverHawks were preparing for patrol duty answering all the disturbing events caused by Shadowhawk in the most recent string of events. Out on patrol were the Gold Team in the Maraj consisting of Bluegrass, SteelHart, SteelWill, Skyedanseur and Quicksilver. The Copper Kid was on his Space Racer hoping that he finds Shadowhawk first as a special yet odd request by Cherri "Berri" Hasua.

"What's the psycho up to now?" asked Skyedanseur.

"He sprung some D-class criminals out of the Penal Planet which isn't saying much," SteelHart elaborated, "but with Shadowhawk's experience within Mon*Star's Mob, he'll no doubt train them to be merciless."

"It's a whole new ball game," added SteelWill, "and a new team is stepping out on the field. We must intercept them."

"Agreed," noted Quicksilver. "It's bad enough to deal with Mon*Star's Mob without having a new crime organization literally emerging from the shadows."

"I know the feeling, Quicksilver," Bluegrass added, powering up his guitar. "Still, the Kid said he wanted to go in first. Some odd request from Cherri."

Skyedanseur was trying to keep her composure after hearing that. "I STILL don't get it," she grumbles to herself, "I still don't get how she would love that maniac!"

Heading past the Sinistar Diner on Fense as a rest stop, Shadowhawk began to transfer most of his powers to all of his recruits. The man in the three-piece suit whose real name was Selvaggio Schedi has reluctantly joined Shadowhawk's organization. Schedi had a record of extortion, racketeering and gambling back on Earth, but with extra powers from Shadowhawk, he's more dangerous. After receiving their powers, Summoner began to summon a giant ogre to stomp the ground flat causing Fense to shake violently causing a major stir inside the diner. "Hey, thisssssssss isssssssss powerful ssssssssssstuff!" smiled the Summoner.

"You haven't seen nothing yet, Summoner," declared the Spellbinder and uses a gold staff to cast lightning all around Fense. "With these powers, I'm more powerful than I ever was!" The Dark Specter was not much for words, but he like Mo-Lec-U-Lar can transform into anything. In his true form, he can also steal the souls of his victims with the wail similar to a banshee, and he utilized that talent on a visiting space gang heading into the diner.

Meilin watched the sky for any sign of SilverHawk or Mob interference. Then she saw in the radar screen an image of the Wicked Zoomer. "Ailen! Ailen! We got trouble!" shouted Meilin running towards Shadowhawk.

"What kind of trouble, qizi?" he said, trying to calm her down. "It's the Wicked Zoomer." Meilin said as she fainted into his arms.

"Wicked Zoomer?" wondered Schedi. "Whazzat? Some sorta monster or sumtin?"

"It's one of Mon*Star's vehicles," replied Shadowhawk. "Somehow he plans on challenging me. It's time I shown you how to battle all threats in Limbo." He gave the passed out Meilin to Mai Ongaku and called Erebus to fly alongside him, and for Mitsurugi to join him in battle. Both the winged scourges and the space samurai flew up to meet the Wicked Zoomer head on.

"Be careful, my ailen," whispered Meilin.

Shadowhawk and Erebus met up with the Wicked Zoomer and were preparing to transform into Daimyo and Apollyon, but Echo said to hold that transformation. "Before you begin to transform, Shadowhawk," she called out to him, "you have to make sure nobody picks up what I'm planning to do."

"What plan do you have in mind, Echo?" questioned Shadowhawk.

"You'll find out, my winged friend," smiled the vampire princess. "For now, do as I request."

Shadowhawk looked to Mitsurugi and talked with him, then he summoned Spellbinder to come forward and create an electrical storm. Mitsurugi was putting his hand over the handle of his katana.

"We'll accept your offer, vampire princess," nodded Mitsurugi, "but be forewarned. If you betray my shogun during this transaction, I'll hunt you down and slay you by my hand."

As Shadowhawk, Mitsurugi, Echo and Pricilla were face to face outside the shuttle, Spellbinder cast his electrical storm and sent it over to their area, covering them in a thick fog-like cloud. The shuttle's sensors and those of Mon*Star's and the SilverHawks' were temporarily out of commission. Nothing was uncertain, but there was something going on in the fog.

When the fog vanished, Mitsurugi and Shadowhawk were bound in steel chains and Erebus has been shackled to a perch. Echo then called out to the group inside the shuttle. "Attention, whoever's in there," she called out while Pricilla was typing something. "We have your precious leader, his bird companion and your strongest warrior in custody."

Meilin awoke from Echo's rude awakening to see that Shadowhawk was captured. "NO! AILEN!" she shrieked.

"If you ever want to see them alive again," continued Echo, "change your course to Brim*Star and throw yourselves on the mercy of Mon*Star, the Planet Master!"

The Wicked Zoomer then left back to Brim*Star as Meilin was fanatically upset at Shadowhawk's capture, but at that very same time, Mai Ongaku was reading something. It was a message that Pricilla typed while Echo was speaking.

"Miss Meilin," reported Mai, "I picked up a weird note from Shadowhawk's captors. Read for yourself."

When Meilin read the message relayed by Pricilla, she knew Shadowhawk must've done something. She was secretly ecstatic about what will transpire on Brim*Star, but she had to keep a poker face as did Shadowhawk when he first infiltrated Apollo Red.

"What you standing around for?!" shouted Meilin. "We no time to lose! Onward to Brim*Star to get my ailen back!" The shuttle was pouring full throttle towards Brim*Star with Meilin at the controls flying like a mad woman possessed.

In the cargo, Selvaggio asked Mai, "Hey, what was in that message that China Girl read?"

Mai shrugged and said, "It said something about two new members of our group direct from Brim*Star. I don't know what it means, but it has something to do with that encounter."

The Gold Team was still in hot pursuit of Shadowhawk's shuttle and then a transmission was coming in from Hawk Haven. It was Commander Stargazer with an update on the situation. "SilverHawks," relayed the Commander. "We got a disturbing signal. It seems that shuttle is heading for Brim*Star."

"Hoo-dawgie!" exclaimed Bluegrass. "There's gonna be a showdown for sure. Mon*Star's Mob against Shadowhawk's new group."

"That's right, Bluegrass," added SteelWill, "except this confrontation is Sudden Death!"

"And we know that isn't good for Limbo," examined SteelHeart. "So let's finally settle the score with Mon*Star AND Shadowhawk!"

All the SilverHawks were ready and were now planning a full-scale assault on Brim*Star to finally put an end to Mon*Star and his Mob and as a bonus, stop Shadowhawk and his new group from ever being born, but still that remains to be seen as Shadowhawk was getting close to Brim*Star and the ultimate showdown with his former boss.

Echo and Pricilla were carrying Shadowhawk, Erebus and Mitsurugi in the Wicked Zoomer, apparently escorting them to see Mon*Star back on Brim*Star for termination. Meilin and the Hellcat stayed back to keep a close eye on the Zoomer.

"What'sssssssssssssssss taking ssssssssssssssssssso long?" hissed the Summoner. "Let'sssssssssssssssssss BLASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSST them out of the ssssssssssssssssssssssssssky!"

"Don't be so hasty, serpent-boy," warned Meilin. "My ailen look captured, but he has something planned. I put my faith in him and all of you should, too."

Spellbinder was keeping an eye outside the Hellcat for any interference by the SilverHawks or any other trouble.

Meanwhile, heading towards Brim*Star, the SilverHawks prepare for what might be their largest battle ahead between the Mob and Shadowhawk.

"This is it, Hawks," chimed Bluegrass. "It's finally round-up time! Mon*Star and his Mob are good as captured."

"But don't forget about Shadowhawk, cowboy," noted Quicksilver. "He and whatever group he assembled are an equal threat to Limbo."

"Don't worry, Skipper," Bluegrass added. "We'll hogtie that shady bird alive."

"I'd rather see him dead," grumbled Skyedanseur. "I don't care WHO wants him alive, he deserves to DIE for all I care!"

"I know how you feel, Krysten," reminded SteelHeart, "but our job is to lockup the criminals, not kill them! If we did, we won't be any better than Mon*Star or for that matter Shadowhawk!"

Skyedanseur has to swallow her pride that being a SilverHawk means the safety of everyone in Limbo comes first and that justice must be done. The works of vigilantism is prohibited in the ranks of the SilverHawks and are punishable by suspension.

Copper Kid has some thoughts of his own concerning his fellow Mimian Cherri's request to find Shadowhawk.

"I'll try to do my best, Cherri," thought the Kid to himself, "but in times like this, it would be impossible to reason with him."

Within minutes, the Wicked Zoomer landed on Brim*Star near Mon*Star's fortress, but the Hellcat landed on the Moon*Star. It was a part of Shadowhawk's ingenious plan to stunt 10 years growth out of Mon*Star.

"Yo, China babe," addressed Schedi. "Why are we here on the moon? Ain't we gonna help out the bossman?"

"We ARE helping him, ruffian!" retorted Meilin. "Ailen's instructions were to wait on Moon*Star until he give signal!"

"I hope he hurries soon," complained an anxious Mai, "I feel like busting heads!"

"You'll get your chance, delinquent," reminded Spellbinder, "as soon as Shadowhawk emerges from Brim*Star."

Inside the fortress, Echo and Pricilla dropped off Shadowhawk, Erebus and Mitsurugi in front of Mon*Star.

"Watch the tail feathers, girlie!" squawked Erebus.

"Erebus, button your beak," whispered Shadowhawk, "and trust me."

Mon*Star was walking down from his throne in his normal form carrying his Light*Star gun. "Good work, you two," he commended to Echo and Pricilla. "You are dismissed. Leave Shadowhawk to me."

Echo and Pricilla bowed out and left Shadowhawk to face Mon*Star's wrath, but little did anyone know that Shadowhawk's chains were loose enough for him to blast through. But for now, Mon*Star's got him by the throat, trying to choke him into submission.

"I want to savor this moment before I dispose of you forever, Shadowhawk!" boomed Mon*Star. "I don't like upstarts like you ruining my business. People like that should be dealt with immensely!"

Erebus was trying to fly free of his chains but he was anchored tightly. Mitsurugi, although anguishing that Shadowhawk is about to die, was actually using a special dagger made from a meteorite to cut through his chains.

Shadowhawk looked like he was about to pass out at the hands of Mon*Star as he began to squeeze him tighter. "Any last words before I put you out of your misery?" ordered Mon*Star.

"I do," grunted Shadowhawk, struggling to get his arm free, "after I do this!" Upon saying, Shadowhawk got his arm free and blasted Mon*Star in his eyes with Dark Symmetry. Mitsurugi cut free of his chains and used his sword to cute Erebus free and soon, Shadowhawk knocks Mon*Star down with a few martial arts moves.

"Get to the controls, Erebus!" shouted Shadowhawk. "It's time!"

"You don't need to tell me twice!" Erebus replied and zoomed towards the console controlling the fortress. Yes-Man was at the controls trying to keep the robo-raven from activating its laser.

"Shoo! Shoo!" growled Yes-Man. "Get away, you bothersome bird!"

As Yes-Man had his hands full with Erebus, Shadowhawk began his transformation sequence and Mitsurugi was watching out for him, fending off any Mob member that came close to him.

"Dark*Star of Limbo," Shadowhawk began to chant, as black energy began to fall on Brim*Star. "Bring on the darkness, bring on the night! Bring me the power soaring supreme.DAIMYO!!"

On the Moon*Star, Meilin saw a black shadow on Brim*Star's surface that sparked her senses. "Ailen's changing!" she alerted everyone inside the Hellcat. "That's our signal! Move out!"

Within an instant, the Hellcat containing Shadowhawk's entire forces zoomed into Brim*Star to assist Shadowhawk in keeping the Mob at bay. Inside, Brim*Star, Shadowhawk has become Shadowhawk Daimyo and Erebus became Apollyon once more. Apollyon looks at Yes-Man and fired lasers in his direction. "Move it, worm!" warned the giant bird. Yes-Man ducked out of the way as Apollyon fired, but its target was the controls for Mon*Star's transformation.

Mon*Star was at the mercy of Shadowhawk Daimyo, but defiant to the end, the space tyrant would not back down, even from someone like Shadowhawk. "Yes-Man!" bellowed Mon*Star. "Fix the controls for the Transformation Chamber! I want that insignificant turncoat destroyed!"

"It'll take me a while to fix the machine, Master!" whimpered Yes- Man. "Apollyon done damage to it! It'll only be 30 minutes!"

"You got FIVE!" boomed Mon*Star. However, 5 minutes was all that Shadowhawk needed to zoom out of Brim*Star and head towards the Moon*Star. Meilin hated being in the background, but she had to for her child's sake. She dropped off Shadowhawk's group and headed out to meet Shadowhawk Daimyo at the Moon*Star.

"Come back and fight me, you coward!" Mon*Star shouted. "Who taught you how to fight?"

Daimyo responded on the video screen of the console with him near the Moon*Star. "You taught me how to fight, Mon*Star," replied Daimyo. "And you taught me there are other ways to get rid of your enemies! And now, I'll be rid of you!"

Shadowhawk then began a special ritual called Dark Channeling that takes the negative energy from everything inside of Limbo. Beams of dark energy were seen heading for Brim*Star. The SilverHawks wondered about the dark beams as well as they were heading close.

"Solid beams of black energy?" thought Aurora. "Something's brewing in Brim*Star and we got no time to waste!"

"Full speed ahead, cowboy," ordered SteelWill, "and don't spare the horsepower!"

"You got it, pardner," acknowledged Bluegrass and put the Maraj into full throttle. "Hang on to your hats, Hawks. We're goin' in!"

Below, Mon*Star had no other choice but to rush towards Shadowhawk in the Limbo Limo before he can do any damage to the Moon*Star, but he was struck in the head by a wrench. This made Mon*Star angrier than before. "WHO DARES TO STOP ME?!" he ordered.

In an instant, Echo and Pricilla came out of hiding and confronted Mon*Star face to face. "It was Echo and myself, you bully!" retorted Pricilla. "We're through with you bossing us around! We're leaving for Shadowhawk's group!"

"And I'm here to make you suffer," continued Echo, "for letting my beloved husband Dragor suffer at the Penal Planet before his death!"

"Then you'll meet the same fate as Dragor, you treacherous vampire!" charged Mon*Star towards Echo. "And you will suffer too, Triceron!"

Mon*Star's anger had got the better of him forgetting about Shadowhawk's power ritual as it began to shine with white light.

"There, it's done!" said Daimyo. And then he turned towards Brim*Star. "MON*STAR!" he called out to the tyrant. "IT ENDS.NOW!!!"

Mon*Star looked up and he saw Daimyo about to fire. He left Echo and Pricilla alone to tend to Daimyo but it was too late as Daimyo shot out his arms and shouted out "DARK REVOLUTION!!!"

Mon*Star was caught in the blast and was hurled out of Brim*Star's orbit and into Limbo space. The entire Moon*Star of Limbo was engulfed in a white ball of hot destructive light. The Silverhawks had arrived on Brim*Star but were also caught in the blast that shook for miles around. They too saw Shadowhawk Daimyo blast the Moon*Star out of existence.

"THAT MANIAC!" shrieked Skyedanseur. "WHAT'S HE DOING?!"

"He's destroying the Moon*Star!" observed QuickSilver. "That's a fierce power!"

"TARNATION!" agreed Bluegrass. "That's some harsh force that hombre has!"

"Brace for impact!" ordered SteelHeart. "We're about to experience shock!"

After the destruction died down, the Moon*Star of Limbo was shattered into billions of moon rock. Yes-Man couldn't hardly believe that the Moon*Star is now gone and Mon*Star is now powerless. The Mob was at a loss for words as Shadowhawk's group boarded the Hellcat and headed out to recover Shadowhawk Daimyo.

"This is absurd," moped Hardware. "Mon*Star's powerless and the Moon*Star's gone!"

"Shadowhawk has finally pushed things too far this time," silently spoken Windhammer. "Now we're on our own!"

As the Mob began to make repairs on the fortress, the Hellcat was heading out of Brim*Star's orbit and began to make its way towards the dark side of Limbo and Scotos, the Planet of Darkness. Inside, Shadowhawk has returned to his normal state but asleep and Erebus was nesting on his master. Meilin held him closely to her lap and massaged her loving husband while Mitsurugi piloted the Hellcat.

"How is he, Meilin?" the samurai asked.

"He exhausted," she sighed in relief, "but he's OK. I'm lucky to have met him on that encounter."

"We'll all need his strength and wisdom for the upcoming battles ahead," pointed out Mitsurugi. "Mon*Star may not have the Moon*Star's powers anymore but he's still a threat."

"And let's not forget the SilverHawks, too," added Spellbinder. "After today, they'll be sure to hear about us soon."

Then, Meilin began to feel some sort of cramps inside her. Her twitching woke up Shadowhawk from his slumber.

"Meilin? Are you OK?" he asked her. All Meilin can do was groan and twitch with agony. Then, Shadowhawk remembered something. "Mitsurugi, take us to Bedlama and hurry!"

"It's suicide, but as you command, my shogun," replied Mitsurugi and headed towards Bedlama at faster-than-light speed. Meilin's twitching and groaning in pain became louder than ever because she's about to give birth to her and Shadowhawk's baby.

The SilverHawks were surveying the damage done by Shadowhawk. It was extensive, but the Mob was firing like crazy.

"A lot of damage done," observed Aurora, "yet the Mob is still here!"

"I'm surprised," said Skyedanseur. "Shadowhawk only destroyed the Moon*Star!"

"But let's not forget that Mon*Star is still alive," added QuickSilver, "and you can believe he'll be back for revenge."

"Let's vamoose back to base," said Bluegrass. "We've got a lot of preparin' to do now that TWO Mobs are loose in Limbo!"

The Maraj headed back towards Hawk Haven leaving Brim*Star as it was when Shadowhawk destroyed the Moon*Star and the fortress. Elsewhere, drifting in Limbo space, helpless and powerless was Mon*Star. His body was unconscious but his mind is filled with more rage than ever before.

"Shadowhawk," he declared in his mind. "One day, you'll regret everything that you did to me! Someday, I'll make you PAY!!!"

With the Moon*Star permanently obliterated, Mon*Star is powerless against the SilverHawks and Shadowhawk's new group, but his evil intentions are still considered a threat to Limbo and it's all just the beginning of Shadowhawk's empire.
